Gemma brings a uniquely interdisciplinary perspective to the Ketogenic Foundation, shaped by a background in political science, the arts, hospitality, and health advocacy. A Northern California native and UC Berkeley graduate, she initially pursued a career in diplomacy, interning on Capitol Hill before pivoting to New York City, where she explored political satire and storytelling through acting and writing.
That early creative chapter eventually gave way to a passion for hospitality and wine – first as Estate Director for the President of Columbia University, and later in Napa Valley, where she spent over a decade at the historic Inglenook Winery as Director of Hospitality. During that time, she earned her Certified Sommelier designation, (receiving the Walter Clore Scholarship for the highest exam score) and served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Rutherford Dust Society.
In 2015, Gemma’s life – and career – took a pivotal turn when she and her husband, Dorian Greenow, adopted a ketogenic lifestyle. What began as a personal pursuit of better health, quickly became a shared mission as they experienced profound, measurable improvements. Together, they co-founded Keto-Mojo to provide affordable, accessible glucose and ketone testing -empowering others to take control of their metabolic health through data.
But as their mission evolved, it became clear that creating lasting, systemic change, especially within medical and research communities, required more than a business model. They needed a nonprofit vehicle that could support long-term, multi-generational impact through science, credibility, and collaboration. In 2019, they launched The Ketogenic Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to advancing rigorous research and education around ketogenic therapies. It was the natural next step in helping shift the global conversation around metabolic health – with evidence, not just enthusiasm.
Today, Gemma is a strategic leader and international advocate for ketogenic and metabolic health. She speaks at conferences, collaborates with clinicians and researchers, and helps shape the future of the field through education, accessibility, and practical innovation. Whether breaking down the science, bridging the gap between lifestyle and medicine, or simply proving that wine and ketosis can, in fact, peacefully coexist, she remains committed to helping people reclaim their health -one data point, one story, one life at a time.
